what information do I need to include on my wedding invitations?

15/03/2010

It might sound like a silly question, but deciding what information to include on your wedding invitations and how to word them is a bit of a mine field! There are endless possibilities and they depend on who is hosting your wedding as well as the style of your big day and your personalities. So I’ve picked some of the most popular traditional/more formal wording layouts based on who is hosting your wedding and shown how to lay them out below. (I’ve been promising to do this for ages, but the launch of our gorgeous invitations site www.flatfiveinvitations.co.uk kept me away from blogging for a while!) Of course every wedding is different, so we work with our couples to tailor the wording to suit their style and circumstances but this will give you a good basis from which to personalise your stationery. I will post some more contemporary wording styles that you might like on a separate post. Hope you find this helpful.

take the stress out of finding the perfect bridesmaid dresses

14/03/2010

Wow! just seen these in the Daily Mail You magazine. Beautiful bridesmaid dresses that come in different lengths and can be tied, knotted and folded to create different styles for your maids but allowing them all to wear the same dress! So if somebody wants strapless, but somebody else prefers halterneck or sleeves you don’t have to go on an endless search for something in the same colour! What’s even better is that they are one size fits all so no need for lots of fittings or diets before the big day saving you valuable time and oodles of stress! I wish i had seen them for our wedding – would have been incredible! Genius! visit http://www.twobirdsbridesmaid.co.uk/ (plus they come in loads of different colours so sure to be something to suit everyone).

I am actually considering buying one to wear as a guest to my brother in law’s wedding this summer,  as think of the uses I can get out of it afterwards!

purple alium flower theme wedding invitations

12/03/2010

Our latest bespoke invitations for our gorgeous purple themed wedding have arrived and have been packaged up for the bride and groom! They are a delicious dairy milk purple and feature a hand illustrated design of the bride’s  bouquet flowers – aliums! Hope they love them as much as we do! What a nice way to finish the week.

The bride is trying to match the colour of these for her bridesmaid dresses….any recommendations welcome? xxx

Calla Lillies bespoke wedding invitations

03/03/2010

Hi peeps. Thought you might like to see this hot off the press…..it’s the bespoke invitation that we’ve just designed for Briz’s brother and Emma for their wedding this August. They wanted something soft, pretty and contemporary to reflect their style and colour scheme…..Emma (the bride to be) is having Calla Lillies in her bouquet so we’ve used an illustration style to depict them…..I’m in love with it…..can’t wait to get my dress now!!

Beautiful butterflies

25/02/2010

I adore butterflies and have just been sent a link to British jewellery designer Daisy Knights – how gorgeous is her butterfly tie charm bracelet ? So cute for a laid back spring or summer wedding – and it could be your something blue too! You could carry the butterfly theme through everything from invites (just like our flutterby collection) to table decorations and hair accessories……soooo pretty. Will post an inspiration board when I get a second……butterfly themes are my favourite!  xx
